The
Food Caterers Association of the Philippines (FCAP) had invited
all existing caterers nationwide to join the 1st Food Caterers
Conference of the Philippines with the theme 'Enhancing Out
Taste in Business' that was held on May 20, 2004 at Villa
Immaculada located at Cabido St., Anda St., Intramuros, Manila.
This event happened thru the Partnership with Alaska Milk
Corporation, Nestle Food Services, A Taste of Italy, Great
Food Solutions, San Miguel Purefoods Corporation and UBF Food
Solutions California Manufacturing Co. Inc.
The topics discussed were
the following: Fine Dining Set-up by Hans Schallenberg, Twisted
Appetizers by Helene Pontejos; Soup Presents by Chef Antonio
Libarnes; Event Styling by Sabine Koschinger; New Salads by
Chef John Paul Aguilar Sia; Crema Deserts by Chef George Lizares;
and Wine Appreciation by Freddie Pio de Roda. The 1st Food
Caterers Conference of the Philippines was sponsored by the
F&B World Magazine, Mida Food Distributors, Inc., The
Swan Bake Shop, Chanilili, Audio Compulsion, Smart Shot and
Cook
Magazine.

| Taste
of Manila '04 |
The Food Caterers Association of the Philippines organized the Taste of Manila 2004 and it was managed by Premier Events Plus Group, Inc. with the theme "Food in Art and Art in Food" that was held last November 26-28, 2004 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall. According to the website of Taste of Manila, The Taste of Manila served as a food & lifestyle event organized by the Food Caterers Association of the Philippines (FCAP), that was patterned after the very popular "Taste of Chicago" held annually in the United States and attended by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world.
Participants vary from restaurants, food caterers, food retailers, trade suppliers (eg. kitchenware, linen, uniforms, raw materials, dairy products, breads, cookware, POS systems, etc.), event lifestyle suppliers (eg. flower shops, balloons, musicians, etc.). The Taste of Manila was sponsored by Alaska Milk Corporation, Nestle Food Services, San Miguel Great Food Solutions, Manila Bulletin, Manila Times and Del Monte Food Service. Media Partners included Cook Magazine, F&B World Magazine, Flavors Magazine, Woman TODAY, Celebrity Recipes Plus Home and Gardens.
Ms. Maritess Gutierrez and Chef Boy Logro were chefs to name a few of the participants who concocted dishes at that event. Seminars about food preparation, marketing the catering services and a lot more were included as part of the daily activities. Taste of Manila had the art in food and food in art gallery as it accords with its theme "Food in Art, Art in Food" where different artists from Avellana Art Gallery had designed table set-ups for some caterers who participated the event. The Taste of Manila 2004 had generated a large attendance of over 10,000 in 3 days and 108 total exhibitors. |

| Taste of
Manila '05 |
The Food Caterers Association of the Philippines organized the Taste of Manila 2005 while Premier Events Plus Group, Inc. managed the event. It was held last June 17-19, 2005 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall. Back for its Second Serving....Taste of Manila 2005 is a gathering of the country's best food caterers, restaurants and event lifestyle suppliers with its theme "Food in Art, Art in Food".
The Taste of Manila was sponsored by Nestle Food Services, Manila Bulletin, Del Monte Food Service, Gasul, GOMECO Metal Corporation, Multi-Mach International, Inc., Mega Trade Hall, Kolin, Cook Magazine, Celebrity Recipes Plus Home, F&B World Magazine, Flavors Magazine, Home Radio 97.9, Monster Radio RX 93.1 and Weddingsatwork. Activities included several cooking demos from popular chefs. One highlight of the show was the food preparations done by participating caterers using the famous products of Alaska Milk Corporation which sponsored the occasion. The Taste of Manila '05 had culminated around 120 exhibitors.
Auffrance Catering, Better Pan Catering, BBM Catering, CVJ Catering, Hizon's Catering, Jojie's Catering, VS&F, Josiah's Catering, Swan Catering Services, Kusina ni Kambal, Tamayo's Catering and Juan Carlo, The Caterer demonstrated the preparations of sumptuous dishes available for public tasting.
Taste of Manila once again displayed the art in food and food in art gallery where different artists from Avellana Art Gallery had designed table set-ups for some caterers who took part of the event. Agape Strings serenaded the visitors while sexy comedy actress Ara Mina joined this social gathering of culinary experts as a guest and at the same time to exhibit her restaurant Austeria Italia at the MegaTrade Hall. |
